A one-day LoveLit writing workshop for adults with Joanna Courtney, part of the writing ambitions workshop programme presented by Arts Derbyshire in partnership with Derbyshire Libraries. Looking to write short stories? Looking to SELL them? This commercially focused one-day workshop will help you develop your writing style to create sharp, entertaining and saleable stories for the women's magazines. Led by novelist and widely-published short story writer, Joanna Courtney, this friendly but purposeful course will take you through all the basics of honing your stories and offer plenty of advice and tips on how to catch an editor's attention and see your work in print. As well as having over 150 short stories and serials published in magazines Joanna writes historical novels and has a contemporary novel 'Bonnie and Stan' due out in May under the pen name Anna Stuart. Joanna also lectures in creative writing for the Open University. Please bring along your favourite writing implements whether that be a paper and pen or laptop. Booking essential, book early to avoid disappointment. Complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits will be available throughout the day.
